THE ROAR • Entering the 2000 season, Tiger Woods, at age 24, had already made plenty of noise on the PGA Tour: 15 wins, two majors, the shattering intimidation. But what he did 25 years ago, in his astonishing turn-of-the-century campaign, redefined the game. Maybe forever.

WHY 2K? HERE'S WHY. • One way to measure Tiger’s dominance in 2000 is through the Tour’s myriad performance stats. In 2000, there were 51 categories in all. For the season, Woods ranked first, second or third in 29 of them.

THE POUNDING AT PEBBLE • Woods’ win at the 2000 U.S. Open was historic for lots of reasons—most memorably his record 15-stroke margin of victory in a major. But his other numbers that week were gaudy too.
