Storytime

SHOES OF THE WORLD • It was late in the evening, and the shoemaker and his wife were tidying up their shop. They vacuumed the floor and dusted the dozens of shoes on the shelves.

GLUTTON’S BIG FEAST • The Inuit peoples have lived in the frozen Arctic for many hundreds of years. They paddle their kayaks among the ice floes and hunt seals and whales for food.

THE WINTER KING’S DAUGHTER • Many hundreds of years ago, the Norse people of Scandinavia worshipped a family of gods who were said to live in a golden hall called Valhalla. Their chief was Odin, the god of war, wisdom and poetry.

THE BOY WHO READ WITH HIS FINGERS • Louis’s family lived in a big stone house in the French countryside. They kept chickens for eggs and their cow gave them milk. The family even had a vineyard where they grew their own grapes.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT…

MRS CLAUS’S SPECIAL DELIVERY • It was the night before Christmas, and Santa’s workshop was very busy indeed! Everywhere you looked, elves were making toys and wrapping them in brightly coloured paper.

THE FAIRY CHILD • It was late at night in the Scottish Highlands, and Fergus shivered. His heavy woollen kilt was wrapped around his waist, but he still felt the chill of the wind!

MONSTER CASTLE • Hilda peered at the hand-drawn map. She had passed through the village and was now deep in the woods. Her destination lay at the end of this road…

THE QUEEN’S GINGERBREAD MEN • It was New Year’s Day. Cold rain hammered against the windows of Hampton Court Palace, but inside it was warm and bright.

STORYTIME PLAYBOX • Bake delicious gingerbread men, find missing shoes, crack a code in braille, and race around a castle looking for presents!

CHRISTMAS GIFT HUNT • Hilda’s new friends have to find the presents hidden in the castle. Who will get their gifts first?

BRILLIANT GIFT BOOKS!
